Our Intro Program is designed for athletes with a swim background but new to the sport of water polo. This program will focus on continuing to develop swim skills, intro (as the name suggests) water polo skills, and the basics of playing on a team. These teams practice twice a week with a focus on developing/strengthening their swim skills, building a strong base of water polo fundamental skills, and introducing tactical team play. All our Intro practices start with 15 minutes of dryland training where athletes will learn proper warm-up exercises, practice their ball handling and build flexibility/coordination. Our goal with the Intro program is to develop skills and graduate athletes into the Development Program when they are ready.

Each month our Intro athletes compete in 13U and 11U game nights through the Surrey Water Polo League (SWPL). These events give athletes the opportunity to compete against other local teams from Vancouver, Coquitlam, Fraser Valley, Delta and more! These games take place monthly on Sunday evenings at the Guildford Recreation Centre and are designed to be a fun, positive and development-focused experience. In addition to the SWPL, our Intro and Development athletes may have the opportunity to attend local tournaments at the 13U and/or 11U divisions throughout the season.
